Malang Band Red Valley Makes History, Premieres 8 Music Videos In Cinemas

Tuesday, 03 Jun 2025

Malang-based alternative rock band, Red Valley, has made new history in the country's music industry. After releasing their debut album titled "M", Red Valley held a screening of eight exclusive music videos at an event titled Gala Premiere Music Video at Mopic Cinema Malang, Saturday (5/31/2025). This event is a rare achievement in the Indonesian music industry.

"Red Valley is the only band in Indonesia to release a complete album with eight music videos. What's special is that each of these music videos was produced by eight different production houses," said Dadik.

Red Valley consists of Wara Valerie (vocalist), Ega (guitarist), Odiet (bassist), and Airen (drummer). The band was officially formed on May 31, 2024, and exactly one year later, they celebrated their musical journey through bold and innovative visual works.

Red Valley's debut album, "M", consists of eight songs with strong musical characters and emotional lyrics, namely: Marah, Million, Merah, Mimpi, Melancholia, Malang, Messenger, and Malam. All of these songs are interpreted into music videos with a unique visual approach by eight different production houses in Malang City.

"This Gala Premiere Music Video event not only creates a new milestone, but also realizes the dreams, hard work, ambition, and extraordinary dedication of Red Valley to produce this special work," said Dadik.

This project involves more than 500 creative economy actors, ranging from filmmakers, fashion designers, makeup artists, local brands, to talents from various other art fields.

"Each Red Valley music video involves a different number of crews, ranging from 5, 20, 25, to 35 people. Therefore, I believe that each work has a life and feeling presented by the music video directors," explained Dadik

According to Dadik, cross-sector collaboration in this project is a reflection of the spirit of the creative economy that is growing rapidly in Indonesia, especially in Malang City.

"Through this great work, we want to make music the locomotive of the creative industry, presenting works that go beyond conventional boundaries by combining elements of film, animation, technology, and unique visual styles," said the founder of UTERO Indonesia.

The Gala Premiere event will be attended by creative industry players, academics, students, art communities, culture, and government officials. In addition to the screening of eight music videos, there will also be a creative showcase and interactive activities that bring the public together with the creators behind the scenes.

"This event is expected to be a new milestone in the development of local music while opening up discourse that music and film can encourage each other as a creative economic force based on collaboration," concluded Dadik.
