Camp Broadway Indonesia Presents "Letter To Indonesia" Through The Work Of Guruh Soekarnoputra

Thursday, 24 Jul 2025

In celebration of National Children's Day 2025, the Indonesian performing arts scene was enlivened by a special performance that spoke to the aspirations of the youngest generation.

Camp Broadway Indonesia (CBI), the sole licensee of the renowned New York-based musical theater program, successfully made its debut at the Indonesia Kaya Gallery.

The performance, titled "Kami Anak Indonesia: Surat untuk Indonesia," featured the inaugural lineup of CBI Legacy Stars, nine talents selected from the CBI Ensemble program, on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

This 45-minute performance was more than just entertainment, but a profound narrative woven into the form of monologues and musical pieces.

Under the direction of director Adit Marciano, who is also the Co-Founder of CBI, these young talents portrayed their anxieties, hopes, and pride as Indonesian children.

"Kami Anak Indonesia: Surat untuk Indonesia" is not just a performance," said Adit Marciano.

"It's the sincere voices of Indonesian children—the generation that will shape the future of this country. CBI Legacy Star doesn't just perform; through their musical performances, they want to convey something to Indonesia," he continued.

The foundation of this performance is based on the timeless works of the maestro of arts and culture, Guruh Soekarnoputra. Iconic songs such as "Seni," "Zamrud Khatulistiwa," "Damai," and "Untukmu, Indonesiaku" were chosen to be the common thread that ties the entire narrative together.

This choice is highly relevant, considering that the lyrics of Guruh Soekarnoputra's songs have long been rooted as symbols of nationalism and cultural richness in the Indonesian musical landscape, bridging the messages of the younger generation with noble national values.

Guruh Soekarnoputra himself was present to witness and support the performance of "Kami Anak Indonesia: Surat untuk Indonesia."

His primary mission is to make theater an accessible and relevant platform for children to build self-confidence, hone their presentation skills, and discover their unique talents.

The organization has won a Special Drama Desk Award for its role in "introducing young people to the wonders of theater and playing a vital role in shaping future audiences."

With this global reputation, CBI Legacy Stars is expected to deliver performances of uncompromising quality.
