Community Organizations In Tasikmalaya Condemn The Planned Hindia Concert, Claiming It Will Turn Young People Into Atheists

Thursday, 17 Jul 2025

Musician Hindia is facing the risk of canceling a performance in Tasikmalaya, West Java, after facing rejection from local community organizations.

Hidia has been announced as one of the lineup members for the Ruang Bermusik 2025 music festival, which will be held at Wiriadinata Air Force Base in Tasikmalaya City on July 20th. However, her arrival has sparked a negative response from some members of the public.

A video circulating on social media shows several people protesting at the Asmaul Husna Monument in Cihideung, holding up a banner of rejection.

"Concerts are not a threat to faith," reads one of the slogans on the banner.

Hidia was rejected from Tasikmalaya because the organization deemed her songs to violate Islamic law. The organization noted several specific points.

"The issue is that Hindia's music contains satanic indications that violate Islamic law, particularly the interpretation of the symbols of the Dajjal, Baphomet, and atheist symbols with Freemason jargon," said Ustaz Hilmi Afwan, Chairman of Al Mumtaz Tasikmalaya City, as reported by Media Indonesia on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

According to him, the Hindia concert in Tasikmalaya must be canceled to protect the future of the younger generation.

"The Hindia music concert must be canceled, and the goal is to protect the faith of the younger generation from the influence of Hindia music, whose lyrics are suspected of leading audiences to hell," said Ustaz Hilmi Afwan.

One of the disputed Hindia song lyrics is "I pray that we all go to hell, long life, sunset, and welcome to the night" from the song "Matahari Tenggelam," released in 2023

Ustaz Hilmi Afwan explained that there is no ban on art and music performances in Tasikmalaya. However, if there are indications of violations of sharia norms, the ulama firmly reject them.

"Tasikmalaya is not allergic to music and art, but if music disguised as art indicates an attempt to lead people to atheism, or to incite hatred, all ulama firmly reject the Hindia music concert," he explained.

"Because the Hindia music concert contains elements of welcoming dark forces as part of satanism," continued Ustaz Hilmi Afwan.

Meanwhile, Tasikmalaya Deputy Mayor Raden Dicky is confident that the organizers of the music concert featuring Hindia had no malicious intentions. He suspects the rejection was triggered by a similar incident in Aceh some time ago.

"I don't want to talk about personal interests, and everything must be done according to existing regulations. However, I'm sure my friends from the event organizers had no malicious intentions at all," Raden Dicky said.
