Indonesian heavy rock metal band Seringai announced a hiatus from live music activities. Through a social media post on Seringai's official Instagram on Monday (12/5), they announced that they would be taking a temporary break following the passing of the late guitarist and founder of Seringai, Ricky Siahaan. "After Ricky left, it seems that we will take a break with Seringai. Whether it will continue or not, honestly we don't have an answer yet. For now, we're on hiatus," wrote Seringai, quoted on Monday (12/5). The band, which consists of the remaining members of Arian13, Edy Khemod, and Sammy Bramantyo, also announced plans for a special event to commemorate the guitarist, Ricky. However, the exact concept is still in the internal discussion stage. "We plan to hold an event to commemorate and celebrate Ricky's life, but we don't know what it will be like yet," he added. "Whether it's just a performance of the remaining Seringai personnel with guest guitarists/friends for 1 more time, or a tour, or once a year, we haven't decided yet. We will go with the flow," they continued. Furthermore, Seringai conveyed a message not to expect too much to see them playing live in the near future and they also ensured that they would continue to release their merchandise collection for fans. "This Instagram/social media account will remain active to share information related to the band, or the activities of its personnel. Thank you! Always, forever!", they concluded. Previously, Ricky Siahaan, who was known as the guitarist for the metal band Seringai, passed away at the age of 48. Ricky breathed his last in Tokyo, Japan when Seringai was undergoing a series of their concert tour entitled "Seringai Wolves of East Asia Tour 2025".
