Minister of Culture (Menbud) Fadli Zon said that diplomatic efforts, promotion, and cooperation in the field of culture are steps to advance Indonesian culture to make it widely known in various parts of the world. In his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, Fadli stated that the Ministry of Culture welcomes all potential cooperation to make Indonesian culture known worldwide, one of which is a partnership with Brawijaya University. "The Ministry of Culture welcomes the potential cooperation built between the Ministry of Culture and Brawijaya University in an effort to encourage Indonesian culture to go global, through cultural research efforts, Indonesian cultural houses, and Indonesian language teaching programs for foreign speakers," said Fadli. He conveyed this in a discussion activity with the academic community of Brawijaya University (UB) in the "Cultural Discussion and Discussion of the Indonesian Cultural House in China" activity in Malang. Fadli assessed that Indonesia has diverse cultural talents and is full of creativity that shows global competitiveness, including artists in the field of music. "Let's strengthen collaboration and cooperation to advance Indonesian music, loved domestically and admired by the world," he said while visiting the Indonesian Music Museum, Malang City. The museum has tens of thousands of collections of cassettes, CDs, vinyl records, magazines, singers' costumes, and a number of musical instruments from both Indonesian and foreign musicians. On Sunday (16/2) and Monday (17/2), Fadli held a series of cultural advancement activities in Malang Regency and Malang City. In addition to Brawijaya University and the Indonesian Music Museum, Fadli visited various other places in the area known for having many temples. Starting the visit to Malang Regency, the Minister of Culture closed the 2nd Congress of Peneleh Activists at the Bani Hasyim Singosari Indoor. This congress was held as a real manifestation of the young generation to foster and continue the spirit of struggle of H.O.S. Tjokroaminoto who was a national teacher who played an important role in the history of Indonesian independence. This Peneleh activist is a youth generation who has a vision as a forum for youth movements that emphasize the spirit of religiosity and culture in line with what was taught by H.O.S Tjokroaminoto. Next, Fadli reviewed several temples, the majority of which are Hindu-Buddhist in nature and are remnants of the Singosari Kingdom. Several temples visited include Singosari Temple, Kidal Temple, and Jago Temple, all three of which have National Cultural Heritage (CBN) status.
