Prabowo Announces 8 Economic Policies To Boost Growth

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto announced eight policies to boost economic growth in the first quarter of 2025. The stimulus is given to leverage people's purchasing power. “The government will continue to implement strategic policies to boost our economic growth,” Prabowo said at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (17/2/2025). 

1. UMP Increase 

The 2024 provincial minimum wage (UMP) increase is expected to have a positive impact on people's purchasing power.  

2. Optimization of social assistance  

The distribution of social assistance is accelerated, including the Family Hope Program (PKH), Basic Food Card, Smart Indonesia Program (PIP), Smart Indonesia Card (KIP), and Village Fund Cash Assistance (BLT-DD). 

 3. Faster THR Disbursement  

The holiday allowance (THR) for state civil apparatus (ASN) and private workers will be disbursed in March 2025.  

4. Ramadan-Lebaran Stimulus 2025  

The government prepared various programs, such as discounted airline tickets, discounted toll rates, and shopping promos Harbolnas 2025, EPIC Sales 2025, and BINA Diskon 2025. The Ministry of Tourism and SOEs also held Lebaran homecoming programs. Food price stability is maintained. 

5. Economic Stimulus Package  

The government provided discounted electricity tariffs, tax incentives for the purchase of property and electric vehicles, and tax subsidies for electric and hybrid vehicles. Income tax (PPh) for labor-intensive sectors is also borne by the government.  

6. Free Nutritious Meal Program  

This program is optimized to increase people's nutritional consumption. 7. Disbursement of People's Business Credit (KUR) The government is accelerating the disbursement of KUR so that small businesses can get access to financing faster.  

8. Realization of Rice Harvest  

Rice production is claimed to have increased significantly. “There have been reports that our rice production has increased significantly,” Prabowo said.
