Ringgo Agus Rahman has been awarded the Citra Award for Best Male Actor at the 2024 Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) for his role in the film "Falling in Love Like in the Movies," also known as "JESEDEF." This marks his first Citra Award after a career as an actor. After being nominated six times for the prestigious FFI awards, including three nominations for Best Male Actor, Ringgo finally savored the taste of victory. "I truly did not expect to win; if you call it pessimistic, then yes, I was very pessimistic," Ringgo stated during an interview following the award ceremony at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition in BSD City, Tangerang, Banten, on the evening of November 20. "My plan was to head home right after the event because I need to take my child to school in the morning. I am still a bit confused, but I love the process," he added. Like his co-star Nirina Zubir from "JESEDEF," Ringgo expressed his surprise at winning the top award during the 2024 Citra Award Night. That evening, Ringgo was prepared to repeat his usual routine when attending film award ceremonies. "This is not my first nomination; I am accustomed to it. I know my movements very well smiling, clapping, and congratulating the winners... I will do it again tonight," he remarked. Ringgo expressed that he has learned a great deal from the film "JESEDEF." He also conveyed his gratitude for having found colleagues who share the same vision, which contributed to their achievement of the Citra Award through this film. "Honestly, I did not have confidence because I am aware of my journey in film. I understand my capabilities, which are quite distant from the actors I admire who are present here," stated the 42-year-old actor. "Why did I receive this? The only reasonable explanation is that I worked with the people here," he added. The film "JESEDEF" received 11 nominations and won seven awards at the 2024 FFI, including the award for Best Feature Film. "This film holds significant meaning for me, and if someone were to ask, 'How long do you intend to stay in film? Are you really an actor?' I would respond that I will remain as long as I am able," Ringgo concluded the interview.
