The Indonesian Peer-to-Peer Lending Fintech Association (AFPI) is actively working to enhance the position of Indonesia's fintech lending in the global market through various strategic initiatives. AFPI encourages its members to innovate with technology and is also exploring international markets. Recently, AFPI members participated in the Hong Kong Fintech Week 2024, held on October 28-29, 2024, at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. During this event, the AFPI delegation successfully established partnerships with several fintech associations in Asia, including the Hong Kong Fintech Association, Beijing Fintech Institute, and Zhongguancun Fintech Industry Development Alliance. These bilateral meetings led to agreements aimed at strengthening collaboration in areas such as knowledge exchange, joint research, and the development of an inclusive fintech ecosystem. In addition to bilateral meetings, the AFPI delegation actively engaged in various panel discussions on current issues in the fintech industry, including green finance and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for credit scoring. AFPI Chairman Entjik S. Djafar stated that AFPI's participation in Hong Kong Fintech Week is a strategic move to bolster Indonesia's position as a global fintech innovation hub. "Collaboration with fintech associations in Hong Kong will provide opportunities for Indonesia's fintech industry to learn from global best practices and expand business networks," he said in a statement on Thursday, October 31. The collaboration will focus on joint research and knowledge exchange between the two largest fintech lending markets in the world, Indonesia and China. Entjik expressed great enthusiasm for this partnership. By combining the research and innovation strengths of both countries, AFPI believes it can develop more innovative fintech solutions that positively impact society. According to Entjik, AFPI's participation in Hong Kong Fintech Week has shown that the Indonesian fintech industry has made significant progress. "With the support of OJKK and the government, along with the strong commitment of AFPI members, the Indonesian fintech industry continues to innovate and contribute positively to the national economy, setting a global best practice in fintech lending," concluded Entjik.
