The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) is strengthening its corporate communications function and optimizing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to disseminate credible, strategic, and impactful information in the digital era. This was achieved by holding a Communication and AI Optimization Workshop on July 17-18, 2025, at the Swiss-Belhotel, Balikpapan. The event was attended by more than 100 participants from various SOEs, including corporate communications practitioners and regional leaders. Ministry of SOEs Spokesperson Putri Violla stated that communication in the era of information transparency demands an adaptive and collaborative approach, not only from institutions but also from individuals within the company. According to her, employees have great potential to become company ambassadors, voicing SOEs' achievements and contributions to the public in a more humane and relevant manner. "Amidst today's flood of information, the power of communication lies not only in institutional strategy, but also in the strength of individuals. Employees are the most authentic face of SOEs. With digital communication skills and the use of technologies like AI, they can act as conduits for positive messages that have a broad impact on society," said Putri Violla, as quoted in a written statement on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Meanwhile, I Gede Suhendra, Head of Corporate Communication at IFG, highlighted the importance of active employee involvement in building the company's image. In his session, he explained how optimizing employee engagement through social media can strengthen employer branding, expand the company's communication reach, and create a stronger emotional connection between the company and the public.
