Samsung Has Released Three New Products: The Odyssey OLED, The Smart Monitor, And The ViewFinity 2024

Samsung Electronics Co, Ltd announced today the global launch of the Odyssey OLED gaming monitor series, Smart Monitor, and ViewFinity 2024.

These latest and most updated models bring desired features for users - and also some surprising features, to provide a new experience no matter how they use their monitors. The Odyssey product line offers a better OLED experience and the latest AI capabilities on the Odyssey OLED G8; the Smart Monitor product line further indulges users with better entertainment features, plus the AI-powered Smart Monitor M8; and the ViewFinity product line enhances connectivity to create a complete workstation.

Samsung expands its OLED performance offerings with the latest generation Odyssey OLED 2024 models, the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD model) and the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD model).

The Odyssey OLED G8 is a 32-inch Samsung OLED gaming monitor with the first flat screen featuring 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160) and a 16:9 aspect ratio. This monitor has a 240Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time for incredibly smooth and responsive gameplay. The Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27-inch QHD resolution monitor (2560 x 1440) with a 16:9 aspect ratio. With a 360Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms GtG response time, this monitor makes it easy for gamers to keep up with fast-paced gameplay.

The new Odyssey OLED G8 is Samsung's first OLED gaming monitor powered by AI. The NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, the same processor used in Samsung's 8K 2024 TVs, can upscale content to near 4K when using the Samsung Gaming Hub and the monitor's built-in Smart TV apps for higher resolutions in games and entertainment.

Both of these new OLED models feature Samsung OLED Safeguard+, a new burn-in protection technology. This technology is the world's first to prevent burn-in by using a pulsating heat pipe in the monitor. Additionally, the Dynamic Cooling System evaporates and condenses the cooling liquid to dissipate heat five times more effectively than the old graphite sheet method, reducing the core temperature to prevent burn-in. The monitor also detects static images like logos and taskbars, automatically reducing their brightness to prevent burn-in.

The Odyssey OLED G8 and OLED G6 both deliver unmatched OLED image quality with a brightness of 250nits (Typ.), while FreeSync Premium Pro keeps the GPU and screen panel synchronized to eliminate stuttering images, screen lag, and tearing.

The latest Samsung OLED Glare Free technology also maintains color accuracy and reduces reflections while preserving image sharpness to ensure an immersive viewing experience, even in daylight. The optimized low reflection layer for OLED will overcome the trade-off between gloss and reflections thanks to a special hard-coating layer and a new surface layer pattern.

Both monitors have a thin metal design that gives them a unique identity, while Core Lighting+ delivers a better entertainment and gaming experience with ambient lighting tailored to the screen. The ergonomic stand also makes long-term use more comfortable with adjustable height, as well as support for tilting and rotating.
