Arif Ilham Adnan, Co-Chairman/Permanent Committee of the Association of Digital Leaders Indonesia, Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), believes that artificial intelligence (AI) has a significant impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes. "Oh yes, it's very significant. I don't have precise numerical data, such as percentages, etc., but the impact is enormous. AI is already widely used in business processes across many organizations," Arif said on the sidelines of the World AI Show Indonesia 2025 in Jakarta on Tuesday (July 8, 2025). According to Arif, AI technology has been utilized in finance, auditing, operations, and even CCTV-based surveillance equipped with intelligent analytics.

However, Arif emphasized that AI technology should not replace humans, but rather strengthen their ability to carry out tasks. He believes AI should be a tool that enhances capabilities, not a threat to the existence of the workforce.

"The challenge is, artificial intelligence should not be a factor that replaces humans. AI should strengthen human capabilities, not replace them. AI strengthens human capabilities to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. That's the key," he said. However, Arif did not deny that the implementation of AI has a number of challenges, one of which is high costs. Apart from the funding side, the human resources (HR) aspect is also an important concern in the AI ??ecosystem in Indonesia.

Arif also emphasized the importance of digital literacy and skills in all levels of society so that AI can be utilized optimally. "Another challenge is HR readiness. Because AI touches all levels of society, AI literacy is needed. So HR literacy towards AI is very important," he said. Kadin Jakarta, said Arif, actively encourages a digital ecosystem among its members through training and development, as well as advocacy for policies relevant to AI.
