In an effort to support Indonesia's digital economy vision projected to reach USD 366 billion by 2030, the Indonesian government continues to strengthen digital infrastructure and human resource capacity. In line with this strategic goal, the Ministry of Manpower, the Ministry of Communication and Digital (KOMDIGI), Huawei, and its ecosystem partners officially launched a 5G technology knowledge enhancement program. This program is designed to equip Indonesian digital talents with the latest skills that are in line with industry needs and technological advances. This training program focuses on improving the skills and abilities of individuals working in the installation and operation of telecommunications equipment, especially in the implementation of 5G technology. Not only technical aspects, this program also emphasizes compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, and introduces efficient and digital field implementation methodologies for local subcontractor teams. This aims to ensure that training participants are ready to work and have comprehensive provisions. The first wave of training has been attended by more than 40 technicians at the Huawei ASEAN Academy (Institut Teknik) in CIBIS Park, South Jakarta. In the next six months, the program targets more than 3,000 technicians to take part in the next series of training. Agung Nur Rohmad, S.T., M.M., Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development, Ministry of Manpower, welcomed this initiative. He emphasized that this collaborative digital training with Huawei is in line with the government's Asta Cita program which prioritizes improving the quality of human resources through strengthening vocational competencies and skills. "This is a long-term investment to position Indonesia as a developed country by 2045," he said. In line with that, Dr. I Nyoman Adhiarna, Secretary of the Communication and Digital Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM), Komdigi, emphasized Komdigi's readiness to collaborate with Huawei and ecosystem partners in preparing and strengthening the capacity of Indonesian talent in the digital era. "This end-to-end training program that covers basic knowledge materials to advanced skills will support the realization of the Government's target in creating an inclusive digital ecosystem," added Dr. Nyoman. Rony Dosonugroho, CEO of PT. Adyawinsa Telecomunication & Electrical, representing Huawei's local partners, said that this training plays an important role in bridging the skills gap between formal education graduates and industry needs. He also appreciated Huawei's consistency in strengthening the digital ecosystem, especially related to 5G technology, by involving various stakeholders for digital transformation in Indonesia. Jeffrey Wang, Vice President, Management Transformation, Huawei Indonesia, stated that as a global ICT infrastructure provider, Huawei is committed to facilitating the transfer of knowledge on 5G usage and practices to enhance the capabilities of local talent. "Building a resilient digital infrastructure and cultivating skilled human resources are both important to achieving long-term digital economy goals. Our collective goal is to cultivate future-ready talent, contribute to the creation of quality local jobs, and directly support the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045," concluded Jeffrey. Since its establishment in Indonesia in 2000, Huawei has trained more than 127,000 digital talents over the past five years through collaboration with various government ministries, industries, suppliers, and more than 118 universities, affirming its commitment to Indonesia.
