The Ministry of Communication and Digital is increasing the capacity of Indonesia's young generation in artificial intelligence (AI) technology by equipping them with new skills as Prompt Engineers. This was conveyed by the Head of the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of the Ministry of Communication and Digital, Bonifasius Wahyu Pudjianto in the discussion forum "Empowered by AI for the Digitally Capable Generation" at the Multi Media College (STMM) Campus in Yogyakarta, Friday (27/06/2025). "At this time, I also appeal to and invite all participants not to just be passive users. Passive users are those who only use AI, only for simple prompts. There are those who produce superior results, namely we become prompt engineers," he said. According to Bonifasius, special skills are needed in compiling prompts so that AI produces good output. "Prompt engineers are not limited to just writing something, but we can compile it with carefully arranged prompts to produce good results," he explained. The Head of BPSDM also explained that the profession of prompt engineer is not an exclusive profession for certain disciplines, but is open to all disciplines. Bonifasius invited STMM academics to take advantage of opportunities through the use of AI in producing multimedia content. "We see that the opportunity will be even greater, especially because it is related to this school, in the creation of various multimedia content," he said. The Head of BPSDM asked students to adapt to the latest technological developments while still absorbing the knowledge taught in lectures. "It does not mean eliminating the function of colleagues who are currently studying or studying in depth in the field of technology, especially now multimedia and related to the creation of TV and radio content, but that is inevitable. Therefore, it must be utilized so that we are not left behind by the development of the times," he explained.
