YouTube Strives To Make Quality And Equitable Education A Reality

Online video sharing platform, Youtube seeks to realize quality and equitable education for all parties through several programs run together with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.

"We help realize more equitable learning by ensuring that everyone, wherever they are, can access knowledge for everyone wherever they are," said Head of Public Policy and Government Relations for Youtube for Southeast Asia and Frontier Asia Danny Ardianto in a panel discussion in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Danny highlighted that learning is no longer limited to the classroom. Technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), plays an important role in realizing quality education for all parties in Indonesia.

His party claims to have invested in education on YouTube for a long time, such as the Youtube Learning Hub which is a single destination on YouTube for additional and interest-based learning content, to initiatives such as the Edukreator Academy to inspire fun, personal, inclusive, and interactive learning experiences, anywhere and anytime.

"We are committed to working with the government and local communities in supporting a high-quality learning content ecosystem that prepares Indonesia's future generations," he said.

Responding to this, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti highlighted the role of technology in greatly helping to distribute learning content to the wider community.

"Learning content that is easily accessible to the entire community, especially in areas that are difficult to reach geographically. Education must not only be present in formal schools, but also through various digital media that provide educational, interesting, and useful content," said Mu'ti.

He also said that it is very important to create positive and constructive content, as well as encourage mastery of digital technology accompanied by ethics and responsibility.

According to him, technology allows children to learn anytime and anywhere, even in the middle of the fields, thus supporting the ideals of making the nation's life smarter.
