Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Chief Expert Insaf Albert Tarigan said the Coretax tax administration system basically has a positive goal to reform Indonesia's tax system. "The National Economic Council (DEN) proposed to President Prabowo Subianto, first to improve our tax system, one of which is by creating Coretax which currently has problems. But apart from that problem, the intention of the opening is actually very good, to reform our tax system from manual, prone to leaks, then digitized," he said in a discussion forum held in Jakarta, Monday. He explained that in the process, problems could be found regarding data, which he called a classic problem. With the presence of artificial intelligence (AI), it is hoped that it will be able to streamline tax reports that can be integrated into various platforms such as banking, e-commerce, and other sectors. According to him, the concept of utilizing AI in the government system already exists. In fact, according to him, AI is able to streamline bureaucracy and public services. He added that President Prabowo had signed the National Medium-Term Development Plan which includes digitalization and the use of AI. "This is a disruptor but also an opportunity used by the government to improve services to the community," he explained. It is known that the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) has officially opened taxpayer access to use a tax service called Coretax. This system is designed to increase efficiency and convenience in the Indonesian tax process.
