Kemkomdigi Ready To Achieve Digital Transformation With New Structure

Thursday, 27 Feb 2025

The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) stated that it is ready to achieve the digital transformation target with the completion of the new organizational structure.

Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid emphasized that the targets to be achieved by her organization are stated in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

"With the structure that has been completed, it is time for us to move quickly and focus on achieving the RPJMN target. Each Echelon I has clear responsibilities and must ensure that the program runs according to plan," said Meutya Hafid while leading the Leadership Meeting in the Meeting Room of the Kemkomdigi Office, Central Jakarta, Monday.

In the meeting, Meutya instructed the Directorate General of Digital Government Technology led by Mira Tayyiba to accelerate digital transformation in the government sector, especially related to the operationalization of the National Data Center (PDN) in Cikarang.

According to her, the PDN is the backbone of government digitalization, therefore the Directorate General of Digital Government Technology is asked to ensure the smooth process of data migration from ministries and other institutions to the PDN.

Discussing the use of digital infrastructure, reflecting on the still low internet speed in Indonesia compared to other ASEAN countries, he requested that the digital infrastructure owned by the government be optimized.

This task must be considered by the Directorate General of Digital Infrastructure headed by Wayan Toni Supriyanto. Starting from the use of the Republic of Indonesia Satellite-1 (SATRIA-1), Palapa Ring, to the adoption of the latest technology such as WiFi 7, it is hoped that it can be optimized so that it can improve the quality of national connectivity.

The Minister of Communication and Digital also emphasized the importance of developing an innovative digital ecosystem to the Directorate General of Digital Ecosystems.

In the directorate led by Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, Meutya requested that the Directorate General of Digital Ecosystems immediately prepare a roadmap and regulations related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) for industry, as well as accelerate the licensing process for entities in the digital ecosystem. "

"We must be a major player in the AI ??revolution and ensure that our regulations support innovation," said Meutya.
