Indonesia's startup scene is gaining international recognition by dominating the ASEAN Digital Awards 2025, held last night in Bangkok, Thailand.

Out of 18 awards presented, Indonesia won 9, including 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals. Most of the award winners are startups supported by the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) through its digital mentoring program.

"This victory shows that the Indonesian startup ecosystem is not only growing rapidly but can also compete on an international level. We are very proud of the hard work of the startup players who have brought honor to our nation," said the Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid.

This achievement was also praised by Professor Eko K. Budiardjo, a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Indonesia, who called it the highest achievement in the digital field for Indonesia in Southeast Asia.

"This win indicates that Indonesia's digital innovation has reached a highly competitive level," said Eko, who was also one of the judges.

This achievement highlights Indonesia's role as a key player in Southeast Asia's digital ecosystem and strengthens the country's position in innovative and inclusive digital transformation.

The ASEAN Digital Awards recognize organizations, businesses, and individuals who have pioneered innovative products or services that significantly impact the digital landscape in Southeast Asia. Formerly known as the ASEAN ICT Awards (AICTA), it has now been renamed the "ASEAN Digital Awards." Last year, Indonesia won five awards.
