The global competition necessitates that nations establish a secure digital ecosystem. In response to the increasingly complex digital challenges, the Indonesian Information Technology company, DesktopIP Teknologi Indonesia, has developed a data sovereignty-based technology known as IfVirty. IfVirty is an innovative platform that facilitates the virtualization of IT infrastructure in a straightforward and efficient manner. With its user-friendly features, users can freely select backup solutions that meet their specific needs while optimizing existing infrastructure and resources. This platform also allows for the easy deployment of specific Linux and Windows applications. Through this technology, DesktopIP has successfully elevated Indonesia's reputation on the global stage. The company achieved the position of First Runner-Up in the ICT Services category at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2024, held in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. CEO Phidi Soepangkat elaborated that IfVirty embodies the concept of a sovereign cloud. Traditionally, data privacy has been understood solely in terms of the physical location of data storage within a country's jurisdiction. IfVirty transcends this limitation, allowing nations to maintain full control over the security of their digital data. Furthermore, countries can exercise complete oversight over technology and associated costs. “The sovereign cloud concept we present aims to liberate nations from the often biased data regulation dominance. We seek to demonstrate that digital sovereignty encompasses not only the location of data storage but also a nation's ability to maintain full control over the technology developed and the independent management of costs,” stated Phidi on Monday, December 16, 2024.
