The prevalence of online loans, commonly referred to as pinjol, is increasing in Indonesia. Consequently, the public is urged to exercise caution when selecting a pinjol service. When considering a loan application, it is advisable to approach only officially registered or legal pinjol providers. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) periodically publishes a list of officially recognized online loan providers. According to information from ojk.go.id, as of October 21, 2024, there are a total of 97 licensed peer-to-peer lending or fintech lending companies authorized by the OJK. The list of legal pinjol providers has decreased by one company following the revocation of the business license of PT Investree Radika Jaya, also known as Investree. The revocation of Investree's business license was primarily due to violations of minimum equity requirements and other regulations as stipulated in POJK Number 10/POJK.05/2022 concerning Information Technology-Based Joint Funding Services (LPBBTI), as well as deteriorating performance that disrupted operations and services to the public. This action is part of OJK's efforts to foster a healthy financial services industry, particularly among LPBBTI providers that are reputable, well-governed, and implement adequate risk management to protect customers and the public. The OJK encourages the public to consistently utilize the services of fintech lending providers that are licensed by the OJK.
