Acer has announced that the latest generation of their thin and light laptop series, Swift, will come with a variety of models powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series laptop-specific processors starting from Q3 2024. With more CPU and GPU cores than any other AMD processor in its class, and equipped with a highly efficient NPU, these latest AMD processors are set to deliver revolutionary speed and performance in the new wave of Acer's AI PC. These new models will receive free updates for the Copilot+ PC experience when available. Based on the new high-performance "Zen 5" architecture, the AMD Ryzen AI 300 processors with up to 12 high-performance cores and 24 threads are projected to deliver next-level performance for ultrathin laptops. As part of the AMD Ryzen AI, these new processors leverage the new AMD XDNA 2 technology to provide over 50 NPU TOPS of AI processing performance, allowing users to utilize AI capabilities locally and run generative AI applications, Large Language Models, and AI assistants directly on the Acer Swift laptops.By doing so, users will be able to maximize their creativity and productivity without needing internet access and without sacrificing battery life. The AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processor is optimized for lower power consumption and excellent battery life even under heavy computational workloads, coupled with up to 36 MB of cache for productivity and faster response. The integrated AMD Radeon 800M graphics also provide support for high-resolution displays and accelerated encoding with or without discrete graphics cards.
