Amidst controversy and potentially negative news reports, PT Indonesia Airlines Holding emphasized that its establishment as a national airline was more than just talk. On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, the company's management officially announced a significant achievement in the form of obtaining four air transport standard certificates from the relevant authorities, covering both domestic and international services. Based on Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning the Enactment of the Job Creation Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) into Law, the Indonesian Government issued the following certificates: SS-AUNB Number 07072501223410001 – Domestic Scheduled Commercial Air Transportation (passengers and/or cargo) SS-AUNB Number 07072501223410002 – International Scheduled Commercial Air Transportation (passengers and/or cargo) SS-AUNTB Number 07072501223410004 – International Non-Scheduled Commercial Air Transportation (passengers and/or cargo) SS-AUNTB Number 07072501223410005 – Other Non-Scheduled Commercial Air Transportation All certificates were signed by the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) on behalf of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia. PT Indonesia Airlines Holding CEO Iskandar stated that this achievement is concrete evidence that Indonesia Airlines was built within the framework of national aviation laws and regulations. He also denied allegations of hoaxes previously made by Ministry of Transportation officials. "We emphasize that Indonesia Airlines is not a figment of the imagination. Our establishment process followed the rules. We deeply regret the accusation of 'hoax' because it could harm the spirit of investment in the national aviation sector," Iskandar said in an official statement received on Sunday (July 20). This statement also responded to a statement by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Lukman F. Laisa, on May 23, 2025, who called Indonesia Airlines' plans "a pipe dream." According to Iskandar, the licensing process and technical preparations have been gradual and transparent. Iskandar, who recently returned from a trip to several countries to explore strategic partnerships with lessors, aircraft manufacturers, and major global airlines, stated his readiness to engage directly with the Ministry of Transportation in a spirit of collaboration between regulators and industry players. "We are opening the doors of communication as widely as possible. It's time for the public to receive accurate information, not just assumptions," he emphasized. Indonesia Airlines is designed to serve international routes with a modern fleet and premium service, and is committed to strengthening inter-regional connectivity, tourism, and the creative economy.
