Garuda Indonesia (GIAA) To Open Jakarta-Samarinda Flight Route Starting August 1, 2025, Here's The Schedule

PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) will open a new flight route from Jakarta to Samarinda (round trip) starting August 1, 2025. 

Garuda Indonesia Commercial Director Reza Aulia Hakim explained that the flights to and from Samarinda will operate daily using a Boeing 737-800 NG with a capacity of 162 passengers. 

"The opening of this route to and from Samarinda is a concrete step for the company to expand Garuda Indonesia's air connectivity network and actively play a role as a driving force for economic growth in the eastern Kalimantan region, both through tourism and business visits," he said in an official statement on Sunday (July 20, 2025). 

The flight to Samarinda will depart from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on flight GA-580 at 08:05 WIB and arrive at Aji Pangeran Tumenggung Pranoto Airport in Samarinda at 11:20 WITA. Conversely, the flight from Samarinda is scheduled to depart at 12:05 WITA on flight GA-581 and arrive in Jakarta at 1:15 WITA. 

Garuda Indonesia is also offering an exclusive promotion for Jakarta-Samarinda flight tickets, with prices starting from 1 million rupiah, and starting from 800 thousand rupiah for Samarinda-Jakarta flights specifically for travel between August 1-7, 2025. 

said that Jakarta-Samarinda round-trip tickets can be purchased through the website, online travel agents, or Garuda Indonesia Sales Offices. 

"We hope that the operation of the Jakarta-Samarinda round-trip route will meet the various needs of the people of East Kalimantan for safe, reliable, and comfortable transportation services, while also supporting the achievement of economic equality and development," he said.
