Garuda Indonesia Suspends Flights To Doha

Monday, 30 Jun 2025

In response to the evolving security situation in the airspace of the Middle East, Garuda Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to prioritizing the safety and security of all passengers and personnel. This decision comes in light of the closure of Qatar's airspace by local authorities, as a reaction to the escalating geopolitical conditions in the region.

As a precautionary measure, Garuda Indonesia has temporarily suspended all flight services to and from Doha until July 1, 2025.

This was stated by Garuda Indonesia's Director of Operations, Tumpal M. Hutapea, in a press release received by Medan Pos/MPOL on Thursday (June 25).

He noted that on June 23, 2025, Garuda Indonesia had diverted flight GA-900 from Jakarta to Doha to Kualanamu International Airport in Medan. The aircraft landed safely in Medan at 04:22 WIB and was scheduled to depart back to Jakarta on June 24, 2025, at 05:34 WIB, arriving at Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 08:08 WIB.

Furthermore, to ensure the safety and security of all passengers, crew, and personnel currently in the affected areas, Garuda Indonesia is continuously coordinating with the Indonesian Embassy in Doha, local authorities, and all relevant stakeholders.

Currently, Garuda Indonesia's flight services to other international routes, such as Jeddah, Madinah, and Amsterdam, continue to operate normally. We are conducting intensive monitoring and evaluating flight routes and operational conditions based on the developments in the situation, to ensure complete safety for all passengers.

Garuda Indonesia will provide periodic updates regarding any matters that may affect flight operations and the travel of all prospective passengers. For the latest information and/or other services, customers can contact the Garuda Indonesia Contact Center at 0804-1-807-807 or (021) 2351 9999.
