National airline Garuda Indonesia welcomes and is ready to collaborate in implementing the flight fare discount program, which is planned to be implemented during the school holidays in the middle of this year. Garuda Indonesia views the policy as a positive step in expanding public access to affordable and quality transportation services. Garuda Indonesia President Director, Wamildan Tsani, said that Garuda Indonesia as the nation's flag carrier, is consistently committed to being part of collaborative efforts in supporting the government's strategic policies. This includes encouraging public mobility through more affordable flights. "We welcome this initiative as a form of cooperation between all stakeholders to ensure that connectivity between regions is maintained, especially at a time when people's travel needs are increasing. Garuda Indonesia is ready to support the implementation of this program, both in terms of operational readiness and adjusting the tariff scheme in accordance with the policies that will be determined later," said Wamildan, Monday, June 9. Currently, Garuda Indonesia continues to coordinate intensively with relevant stakeholders, to ensure that the formulation of the fare discount program can be prepared comprehensively and in line with our steps in strengthening business expansion and accelerating business performance in the future. The plan to implement the flight fare discount refers to PMK letter No. 36/2025 on VAT on Economy Class Air Transportation During School Holidays. "We believe that close collaboration between all parties will be the key to providing increasingly inclusive air transportation services, without neglecting the safety standards of service quality, as well as business continuity which are Garuda Indonesia's top priorities," he added.
