Thursday, 05 Jun 2025

National airline Garuda Indonesia officially completed the departure phase of Indonesian hajj pilgrims to the Holy Land on Saturday, May 31, 2025. In his statement, Garuda Indonesia President Director, Wamildan Tsani, said that 91,198 prospective hajj pilgrims had been flown to Jeddah and Medina.

"The last flight was carried out by group 95 from the Solo embarkation which carried 243 pilgrims, consisting of 119 men and 124 women," said Wamildan to JawaPos.com, Monday (2/6).

In addition to group 95, on the same day, Garuda Indonesia also departed group 93 with 360 pilgrims, and group 94 with 359 pilgrims. All pilgrims from the three groups have arrived safely in Jeddah, marking the end of Phase I of this year's hajj flights.

In the implementation of this year's hajj operations, Garuda Indonesia recorded a proud achievement with an on-time performance (OTP) rate of 96.4 percent. This figure is the highest achievement in the last three years for hajj flight services.

"This increase is the result of a series of improvement steps that we have implemented comprehensively. The entire Garuda Indonesia team together with related partners have worked hard to anticipate and handle various potential disruptions, both at the departure and arrival airports," explained Wamildan.

Entering the hajj pilgrim repatriation phase which is scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 10, 2025, Garuda Indonesia ensures that all preparations are running optimally. The fleet inspection and maintenance process is carried out strictly to ensure the airworthiness of each aircraft.
