PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia or InJourney Airports is preparing three airports to resume serving international flights. The three airports are Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang, General Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang and HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport in Belitung. This is in line with the Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number KM 26 of 2025 which determines the status of the three airports as international airports. InJourney Airports President Director Faik Fahmi said that coordination with all airport stakeholders is being carried out to optimize the status of the international airport. Several preparations are being made to meet the main requirements for an airport to be able to serve international flights, namely having units or personnel for customs, immigration and quarantine activities. "Coordination is also carried out to ensure aspects of security, safety and service," said Faik, Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Faik explained that the determination of international airport status by the Minister of Transportation aims, among other things, so that the three airports can support increased economic growth, tourism development, and increased investment and trade. The improvement of service and operational standards at the three airports will also be carried out in line with the transformation that InJourney Airports is currently implementing on three pillars, namely Premises (infrastructure and facilities with global standards), People (global quality personnel services) and Process (ecosystem-based operations), all of which are supported by the application of technology as an Enabler. InJourney Airports together with the airlines are currently still discussing international routes that will soon be operated in order to achieve these goals. "In the near future, we will inform you which international routes will be opened," said Faik. Operational preparation InJourney Airports Operations Director Wendo Asrul Rose explained that currently the three airports are also making preparations from the operational side including processes, personnel, facilities and infrastructure. In general, the three airports already have all the resources needed to serve international flight routes, because they have previously served overseas routes. Infrastructure facilities and personnel who understand the operations and services related to international flights are also available. "Rooms for customs, immigration and quarantine activities are also available," said Wendo. The facilities and services at the three airports have received recognition, including from the international world. Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport won 3 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards 2024 from the Airport Council International (ACI), namely Best Airport of 2 to 5 Million Passengers in Asia-Pacific, Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff in Asia-Pacific and Most Enjoyable Airport in Asia-Pacific. This airport has a capacity of 3.4 million passengers/year and a runway measuring 3,000 x 45 meters.
