Cinema XXI Booked IDR 529.8 Billion In Net Income By 3rd Quarter Of 2024

PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk, known as Cinema XXI, reported a net profit of Rp 529.8 billion in the third quarter of 2024. This represents a 36.6 percent increase year on year. During the same period, Cinema XXI generated revenue of Rp 4.3 trillion, growing by 12.1 percent compared to the previous year. Additionally, the company's Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) rose by 17.9 percent year on year to reach Rp 1.3 trillion.

Cinema XXI's CEO, Suryo Suherman, stated that this growth was achieved through effective business strategies and adaptability to market demands.

The company is also expanding in various regions across Indonesia. "The revenue for Cinema XXI in the third quarter of 2024 is supported by increased ticket sales, reflecting our commitment to adding more cinema screens as public interest in watching films continues to grow in different areas of Indonesia," Suryo said in an official statement on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. He added that by September 30, 2024, Cinema XXI had welcomed 66.1 million viewers, an increase of 11.8 percent compared to the same period last year.

The increase in audience numbers has boosted cinema ticket sales revenue to Rp 2.67 trillion, accounting for 63 percent of total income. Meanwhile, revenue from food and beverage sales reached Rp 1.44 trillion, contributing 34 percent to the overall earnings. Suryo also mentioned that Cinema XXI plans to distribute an interim dividend to all shareholders. This interim dividend is set to be paid on November 15, 2024, totaling Rp 416.7 billion or Rp 5 per share.

"This interim dividend reflects the company's commitment to adding value for all shareholders," he added. To enhance access to viewing for all Indonesians, Suryo stated that Cinema XXI will continue to expand into various regions across Indonesia. By the end of September 2024, Cinema XXI has added 42 new screens in different areas. As of September 30, 2024, the company operates 249 cinemas with a total of 1,322 screens in 61 cities throughout Indonesia.
