Schneider Electric, a leader in digital transformation in energy management and automation, has donated electrical panels and testing equipment to the Department of Electrical Engineering at SebelasMaret University. This donation is part of Schneider Electric's initiative to support learning and the development of students' competencies through the transfer of technology knowledge related to digitalization and sustainability in the field of electricity. The medium voltage electrical panel series donated includes the RM6 Panel, McSet AD3 Panel, and N Series Recloser. These three panels have been equipped with digital technology to support connectivity, enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency in electricity distribution. The handover event was represented by Rudy Granet, Plant Director of Schneider Electric Cikarang, to Prof. Dr. Ir. WahyudiSutopo S.T., M.Si., Acting Vice Dean of Human Resources, Finance, and Logistics at the Faculty of Engineering, SebelasMaret University. The event was witnessed by Dr. Techn. Ir. SholihinAs’ad M.T., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at SebelasMaret University, and Prof. Dr. KuncoroDiharjo, S.T., M.T., Acting Vice Rector for Research and Innovation at SebelasMaret University. Rudy Granet, Plant Director of Schneider Electric Cikarang, stated, "Currently, more than 95 percent of the electricity distribution network is still passive or not interconnected. This makes it difficult to monitor the productivity of distribution and early detection of network disturbances. Comprehensive visibility of electricity distribution activities is crucial in improving reliability and efficiency, which ultimately impacts the sustainability of energy access and carbon emission reduction. The good news is that digital technology for electrical panels is now available to support the operation of smart grid electricity networks." Introduction to smart grid technology needs to start from college. This is the background behind Schneider Electric's donation of our electrical panel products for the Electrical Engineering students at SebelasMaret University, so that they can learn the latest technology for electrical panels," Rudy said. Dr. Techn. Ir. SholihinAs'ad. M.T., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at SebelasMaret University, expressed his gratitude for the equipment and training provided to our instructors by Schneider Electric. Donations and knowledge transfer related to electrical technology trends have greatly helped us in carrying out teaching and learning activities. With this laboratory facility, we can improve our accreditation and curriculum to be in line with industry trends and become a positive manifestation of the mutually beneficial partnership between educational institutions and industry players. During the public lecture held in conjunction with the donation handover event, Rudy Granet, Plant Director of Schneider Electric Cikarang, emphasized the importance of electrical engineering graduates sharpening their sensitivity to global conditions and adapting to the increasingly digital industry and sustainable practices. "Schneider Electric, as a provider of electrical solutions, is committed to efficiency and sustainability by creating environmentally friendly and low-emission electrical products, both hardware and software. One example of our latest innovation is the SM AirSet, an electrical panel that is SF6 (Sulfur Hexafluoride) gas-free, which is more environmentally friendly. Of course, this is a new breakthrough that needs to be studied in future lectures," Rudy concluded.
