Asia’s largest annual technology exhibition, Computex, is set to make a comeback in Taipei. The 2025 edition is set to be the stage for the world’s most cutting-edge innovations in computing, from advances in artificial intelligence (AI) to the next generation of PC hardware. Tech giants and industry players are gearing up to showcase their breakthroughs. So, what can we expect from Computex 2025? When and Where is Computex 2025 Taking Place? Computex 2025 is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, May 20 to Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center (TaiNEX) Halls 1 and 2 in Taipei, Taiwan. However, as in previous years, some major announcements and keynote sessions from key industry players are likely to start earlier, on Monday, May 19, 2025. This year’s big theme is “AI NEXT,” underlining the major focus on various aspects and applications of artificial intelligence. AI Will Take Over the Stage Again There is no doubt that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will take center stage. After the AI ??PC and Copilot+ PC waves of the past year, we can expect further evolution. This includes: -On-Device Generative AI: Generative AI capabilities that run directly on devices without cloud reliance will continue to mature. Companies like CyberLink have demonstrated AI video editing solutions that run on devices. -More Powerful NPUs: Neural Processing Units (NPUs) on processors will become more powerful, enabling more complex and responsive AI applications on laptops and PCs. -Enterprise AI Solutions: Beyond PCs, there will be a slew of AI innovations for servers, data centers, and industrial applications, including from players like Wiwynn and Supermicro. -Specialty Exhibit Areas: Computex 2025 will feature new “AI Service Technology” and “Robotics & Drones” areas, demonstrating a commitment to the broader AI ecosystem. The Battle of the Chip Giants: What Will They Announce? Keynotes from chip industry leaders are always highly anticipated: -Nvidia: CEO Jensen Huang will open Computex with a keynote on May 19. Expectations are high for announcements regarding GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs (Blackwell for consumers), including the possible RTX 5090 and RTX 5080. There will also be a focus on “AI Factories” and the potential for Arm-based PC chips in collaboration with MediaTek. -AMD: Led by Jack Huynh (SVP and GM Computing and Graphics), AMD will hold a press conference on May 21. Fans are looking forward to more details about its Zen 6 CPU architecture and RDNA 4 GPUs (Radeon RX 9000 series), including the potential launch of graphics cards like the Radeon RX 9060 XT to compete with NVIDIA in the mid-range segment. Next-generation Ryzen AI processors for laptops will also be in the spotlight.
