Lion Air, which made its debut serving the 2025 Hajj pilgrims, has once again proven its commitment as an airline that is responsive, present and caring to serve the needs of the community. This time, Lion Air is taking part in supporting the smooth running of the 1446 Hijri/2025 AD Hajj pilgrimage, especially for prospective Hajj pilgrims from North Maluku Province. Through the Hajj Feeder service scheme, Lion Air has operated 6 charter flights from Sultan Babullah Ternate Airport (TTE) to Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar International Airport in Maros, South Sulawesi (UPG). There are 1,134 prospective Hajj pilgrims departing using a modern generation Boeing 737-800NG aircraft with a capacity of 189 economy class seats. The Hajj Feeder system allows prospective Hajj pilgrims to spend the night first at the Makassar embarkation Hajj dormitory, before continuing the direct flight to Saudi Arabia. This step is part of facilitating the departure process and ensuring that prospective pilgrims get enough rest time. In addition, it ensures organized services and a more comfortable worship experience from the area of ??origin. Facilitating Air Travel "Through this role, Lion Air helps prospective pilgrims from eastern Indonesia to get to the Holy Land more easily and safely," explained Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Air, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, in a release received by Lifestyle Liputan6.com, Saturday (5/17/2025). Lion Air decided to be involved in the Hajj operation because they understand that the Hajj is an important moment for Muslims, and part of the best service is facilitating air travel that is connected between regions to the main embarkation. "Lion Air expresses its gratitude for the trust and synergy given by the Provincial Government and the North Maluku Regional Government, as well as other related parties such as airport managers, air traffic controllers (AirNav Indonesia), and all stakeholders who support the smooth running of the Hajj pilgrimage this year," continued Danang Mandala.
