The Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, emphasized that artificial intelligence (AI) will play a crucial role in driving the growth of the national digital economy. Consequently, Nezar Patria encourages students to master this technology to avoid merely being spectators in the global digital transformation. "We must prepare for a time when AI becomes prevalent, and that time is approaching quickly. Everything will revolve around AI eventually," Nezar stated in an official broadcast in Jakarta on Saturday. He noted that the presence of digital technology has significantly deepened the processes of communication and mediation. Moreover, he believes that every aspect of daily life is intertwined with technological devices and digital applications, including the use of AI technology. "Current AI is widely utilized. We simply need to give it commands. AI is becoming increasingly human-like. Digital skills are essential in this digital world. You can learn communication, and you can study any field," he explained. During a public lecture on Indonesia's Digital Transformation in Jakarta on Thursday, Nezar Patria mentioned that Indonesia's digital economy could reach IDR 5,000 trillion by 2030, with an estimated contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) projected to be 40 percent. Additionally, AI technology has the potential to enhance productivity by up to 3.5 percent. "The government is already anticipating the rapid developments in the world. President Prabowo is placing significant emphasis on the development of digital infrastructure," he added.
