Monday, 03 Jun 2024

In an effort to find innovative solutions to existing issues, the role of technology, especially the latest technology like AI, is crucial and cannot be ignored. AI has the potential to address some of the biggest challenges in the education sector by innovating teaching practices. In the healthcare field, AI technology is used to improve healthcare services through personalized health information, virtual consultations, and remote monitoring. As for the environment, AI can help tackle climate change issues, predict natural disasters, identify pollution, enhance agricultural yields, and reduce environmental impact.

The significant benefits of technology and AI have led Samsung to initiate the re-launch of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) based education and competition program, Solve for Tomorrow 2024, challenging young people to find solutions to education, environmental sustainability, and health and well-being issues.

Ennita Pramono, Head of Corporate Citizenship at Samsung Electronics Indonesia, stated, "There are still many real environmental, educational, and health issues in society that require innovative, creative, and technology-based solutions."

Through Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, we help young people develop the best ideas to create technological breakthroughs that can solve various issues in their communities. This is their time to inspire. Show your potential through Samsung Solve for Tomorrow! Create change today for a better tomorrow!

To expand the reach of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow to more creative and innovative young people, this year SFT is open to two categories: high school students and equivalent (SMA, SMK, MA) and university students (D3, D4, and S1) from any educational background, as long as they are still active students. Each team consists of 2-4 participants and must come from the same school or college, and each educational institution (school or campus) can register a maximum of 3 teams.

SFT aims to develop skills that go beyond technical aspects and encompass various soft skills such as communication, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, which participants will need to achieve a better career and future.

That's why all participants of SFT 2024 will receive Design Thinking training, which will consist of four training sessions that will focus on finding solutions. This stage will be where many ideas can be developed during the training.

In the next stage, participants who pass the selection to the semifinals will receive AI skills training followed by mentoring sessions provided by professional experts from Samsung or the operational partners of the SFT 2024 program. AI skills are essential to prepare Indonesian youth who understand AI technology, which will be the future.

As a project-based program, participants of SFT 2024 must materialize the most innovative and creative AI-based ideas into concept papers, create a video pitch, and develop a project prototype when they advance to the semifinals. The winners of this program will receive Samsung products worth Rp170 million for the first prize, Rp75 million for the second prize, Rp30 million for the third prize, and Rp23 million for the team that wins the People's Choice Award.
