Thursday, 16 Jan 2025

Vietjet has been recognized again as one of the safest airlines in the world for 2025 in the low-cost carrier category by AirlineRatings, a leading safety and product rating website. The seven-star safety rating awarded to Vietjet by AirlineRatings is the highest possible and reflects the airline's commitment to flight safety since 2018.

In its annual evaluation, AirlineRatings reviews 385 international airlines, considering various factors such as incident records over the past two years, fleet age, audit results from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and other important safety measures.

Vietjet, along with other top low-cost carriers like Ryanair, easyJet, and Frontier Airlines, has consistently ranked in the top 10 for several years. This award recognizes the outstanding performance of these airlines in ensuring flight safety for both crew and passengers.

Vietjet's dedication to maintaining a safety culture across all its operations is commendable, especially as the airline actively works to expand its flight network. The implementation of a reliable safety management system and strict adherence to international regulations contribute to Vietjet's impressive technical reliability.

Sharon Peterson, CEO of AirlineRatings.com, emphasized this by stating, "Vietjet's fleet is the youngest in Vietnam and consists of the latest aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region. The safety record achieved by Vietjet is truly remarkable."

Vietjet currently operates a modern fleet of fuel-efficient Airbus aircraft with a technical reliability rate of 99.7%, making it one of the top airlines both regionally and globally. In Indonesia, Vietjet has successfully developed flight services connecting the country with Vietnam.

At present, Vietjet offers four main routes: Bali to Ho Chi Minh City, Bali to Hanoi, Jakarta to Ho Chi Minh City, and a new route from Jakarta to Hanoi, further expanding the airline's network and marking the fourth direct route linking the two countries.

In 2024, Vietjet plans to add ten new aircraft to its fleet, bringing the total to 115 planes serving over 170 domestic and international routes. Meanwhile, Vietjet continues to invest heavily in training, maintenance, and engineering to uphold the highest safety standards. The Vietjet Aviation Academy (VJAA), in collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), plays a crucial role in training skilled aviation professionals. Additionally, the airline is expanding its recruitment of pilots and cabin crew to support its global network expansion plans.

AirlineRatings evaluates safety, flight products, and various other factors, with assessments trusted by millions of passengers from 195 countries. This platform has become a key reference in the industry for safety and product evaluations.
