Alvin Lim, a prominent attorney, passed away today, Sunday (January 5, 2025), at approximately 12:00 PM WIB. This unfortunate news was confirmed by his spokesperson, Putra Hendra Giri. According to Putra, Alvin was scheduled to travel to Surabaya, East Java, to inaugurate a new office. "He was supposed to take a flight at 8:45 AM from Jakarta to Surabaya," Putra stated when contacted by Kompas.com on Sunday. However, Alvin experienced weakness prior to his departure, leading to a postponement of his flight to 6:00 PM. Regrettably, he succumbed to kidney disease at 12:00 PM, a condition that had necessitated regular dialysis. "Yes, it is true that he passed away due to kidney disease," Putra confirmed. Alvin Lim was an attorney and one of the twelve founders of LQ Indonesia Law Firm, a legal practice established in Tangerang, Banten. He earned his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Gunung Jati School of Law in Tangerang, Banten. In addition to his law degree, he pursued a Bachelor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley, in the United States. He furthered his education in banking at the Colorado Graduate School of Banking in the United States and also obtained a financial planning certificate from Florida State University. Career Background of Alvin Lim Before entering the legal field, Alvin had a diverse career in banking and business. He served as a Business Banking Officer at Wells Fargo Bank & Co. in the United States from 1997 to 1999. In 1999, he was appointed as a financial advisor at American Express & Co. in the United States. His banking career continued to flourish until 2005. From 2006 to 2009, Alvin held the position of President Director at PT Power Center Indonesia in South Jakarta, where he was appointed as the sole distributor for commercial and government sectors for FFI International, USA.
