To support the expansion of market access for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises is launching the UMKM Bazaar for Indonesia again. In October 2024, the Ministry will host the UMKM Bazaar titled BerKRIYAsi, aimed at providing opportunities for MSMEs in the craft sector to market and boost their product sales. Additionally, the BerKRIYAsi event is also a way to preserve Indonesia's traditional arts and crafts through inspiring ethnic-inspired handmade products. This event will take place at the Sarinah Building in Jakarta from October 17-20, 2024, and at Trans Studio Mall in Makassar from October 24-27, 2024. It is supported by six organizing state-owned enterprises: Pegadaian, Bank BTN, Perusahaan Gas Negara, SIG, Angkasa Pura Indonesia, and Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia. Around 150 MSMEs supported by state-owned enterprises will participate in BerKRIYAsi, showcasing a variety of outstanding craft products, including home decorations, accessories (wearables), and other innovative and creative handmade items. The UMKM product bazaar BerKRIYAsi will be open to the public starting October 17, 2024, on the Ground Floor of Sarinah Jakarta. The opening ceremony will take place on Friday, October 18, at Sarinah, Jakarta, featuring Loto Srinaita Ginting, the Expert Staff for Finance and MSME Development at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, along with leaders from the six organizing state-owned enterprises, Sally Salamah from the BPKP National Accounting Department, and Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo from the PPUKM Office. In her speech, Loto Srinaita Ginting emphasized that the UMKM Bazaar for Indonesia aligns with the directives from the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Mr. Erick Thohir, and the President, highlighting the need for state-owned enterprises to involve MSMEs in their procurement of goods and services. Throughout 2024, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises has planned 12 themed UMKM bazaars across seven major cities in Indonesia, including Jakarta, Bandung, Medan, Denpasar, Balikpapan, Makassar, and Labuan Bajo. To wrap things up, the final UMKM bazaar will take place in Labuan Bajo and Jakarta in November 2024. All transactions at the UMKM bazaars are processed through the PaDi UMKM platform, developed by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises in collaboration with state-owned enterprises since 2020. "The total transactions from the eight bazaars held since the beginning of 2024 have reached around IDR 95 billion. Additionally, data from PaDi UMKM shows that domestic product purchases by state-owned enterprises from January to September 2024 amounted to IDR 726.4 trillion. Meanwhile, spending by state-owned enterprises on UMKM has been recorded at IDR 47 trillion, which is only about 6% of the total domestic spending by state-owned enterprises. This indicates that there is still significant room for state-owned enterprises to increase their spending on UMKM," said Loto. In addition to the UMKM product bazaar, BerKRIYAsi is also filled with various other activities, including creative competitions, talk shows, workshops, and entertainment events like live music performances and guest star appearances. The opening ceremony of BerKRIYAsi was attended by the directors of the organizing state-owned enterprises and featured a special performance by a Trio Violinist, accompanied by synchronized choreography. The series of events in Jakarta will conclude this Friday with a guest performance by Juicy Lucy, scheduled for 7:00 PM WIB at Anjungan Sarinah.
