To Support The People's Economy, Pegadaian Offers Scholarships For Selected Young Entrepreneurs

Cimahi, July 23, 2025 – PT Pegadaian, through its ESG Division, continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the development of young entrepreneurs in Indonesia by launching the Pegadaian Entrepreneur Scholarship Program Batch 2, in collaboration with the Young Entrepreneur Academy (YEA). The program's opening event took place at Gadespace Cimahi earlier in July (9/7).

This scholarship program attracted 807 applicants from various regions across Indonesia. After a rigorous selection process, which included administrative screening and interviews conducted from May 22 to June 19, 2025, 30 top participants were chosen to receive a unique opportunity to learn and grow for a full year within the entrepreneurial ecosystem fostered by YEA.

On a different occasion, the Director of Network and Operations at PT Pegadaian, Eka Pebriansyah, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurial regeneration and Pegadaian's role in encouraging the emergence of new business actors among the youth.

"Through this Entrepreneur Scholarship program, Pegadaian aims to strengthen its role in fostering resilient and independent new entrepreneurs. We believe that empowering the economy must start with access to education, guidance, and targeted business capital. This program is part of Pegadaian's commitment to creating a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem, while also driving economic growth across various layers of society," said Eka.

This program is designed to challenge and progressively enhance the participants' skills. In the first six months, students will engage in five intensive simulation projects at YEA, including Selling Competition, Digital Marketing Competition, Effective Promotion Competition, Field Entrepreneur Practice, and Home Business. Following this, students will be tasked with building real businesses in their respective hometowns with guidance from experienced mentors in their fields.

Participants in this program receive several benefits, including a waiver of entrance fees and tuition for one year at YEA (worth Rp 45 million), accommodation for six months, meal allowances for six months, learning modules, field trips to various business locations, direct intensive mentoring with experienced entrepreneurs, hands-on business practice, and a school jacket.

The Pegadaian Entrepreneurship Scholarship Program Batch 2 not only provides access to education but also paves the way for economic independence for the youth. Selected students will receive intensive training, business support, and a wide network over the next year.
