President Prabowo Subianto provided specific directives to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to continuously enhance the quality and accuracy of national data, including data from the Special Economic Zones (KEK). These directives were conveyed during a limited meeting (ratas) with BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday. "The President requested that BPS improve data accuracy," stated Amalia after attending the meeting. Specifically, she mentioned that the President emphasized the importance of data collection from the Special Economic Zones (KEK), as this topic was a primary focus of the limited meeting. "BPS is urged to promptly gather data from all KEK. The President also instructed that all KEK managers actively collaborate with BPS in the field data collection process," she added. Previously, President Prabowo led a meeting discussing the developments of KEK with several ministers from the Merah Putih Cabinet at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The meeting was conducted in a hybrid format, with President Prabowo Subianto, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, several ministers, and representatives from KEK attending in person at the Merdeka Palace, while other KEK representatives from various regions across the country participated via video conference. During the meeting, the Government highlighted the significant achievements of KEK throughout 2024, which exceeded investment and employment absorption targets. Investment Minister and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani reported that the total investment entering KEK from January to December 2024 reached Rp90.1 trillion, far surpassing the established target of Rp78.1 trillion.
