Telkom Shows The Reliability Of Its Digital Infrastructure During The Independence Day Celebration In IKN

Monday, 19 Aug 2024

PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) is all about giving its best for the nation, and one way it does this is by fully supporting national events. A prime example is the 79th Independence Day celebration, where they provided reliable and high-quality telecommunications infrastructure and services. Thanks to Telkom's solid support, the event, which took place simultaneously in two locations—IKN and Jakarta—went off without a hitch. This really highlights the excellent digital connectivity that Telkom offers. "It's an honor for Telkom to directly contribute to the 79th Independence Day celebration in IKN. We’re committed to supporting national development by providing top-notch and innovative telecommunications infrastructure. Our presence in IKN reflects this commitment and aligns with the government's vision of developing IKN as a new, sustainable center for governance and the economy," said Telkom's CEO Ririek Adriansyah. Since last year, Telkom has been working on building telecommunications infrastructure in IKN, ready for the 79th Independence Day festivities. This shows how Telkom, as a state-owned enterprise, actively participates in national development and benefits the Indonesian people. It also aligns with Telkom's commitment to accelerating digital transformation and ensuring equal access to connectivity across the archipelago.

Telkom is rolling out some serious telecom infrastructure and services in IKN, featuring a network with a capacity of 200 Gbps across three routes (Batu Ampar, Sepaku, and Labangka). This setup connects to two international gateways in Batam and Manado, along with 23 data centers and a massive Hyperscale Data Center (HDC) in Cikarang. They've also got six in/out routes to Kalimantan with landing points at three spots (Takisung, Sei Kakap, and Sangatta), plus backup from the Merah Putih satellite. On the mobile side, there are 55 Telkomsel BTS stations ready to serve over 40,000 customers, and security is tight with Next Generation Firewall and DDoS Protection. To ensure everything runs smoothly, Telkom held a readiness drill led by their Network & IT Solution Director, Herlan Wijanarko, with 200 personnel on standby 24/7. Plus, they’re setting up the Nusantara Service Operation Center (NSOC) and Telkom Smart Office in IKN, featuring a 24-hour monitoring system.

But it’s not just for the ceremony at the Presidential Palace in IKN; Telkom is also prepping telecom infrastructure for events at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. Additionally, their subsidiary, Sea Today, has been entrusted with handling the entire TV Pool production for the Independence Day celebrations. This way, folks all over Indonesia can join in the festivities for the 79th anniversary of RI in both IKN and Jakarta. Telkom aims for this contribution to bolster Indonesia's status as a country with advanced digital infrastructure, always leading the charge in supporting sustainable digital transformation across the archipelago.
