PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk has teamed up with the Muhammadiyah regional management in several areas of Sumatra. This partnership includes business collaboration, social and religious activities, and financial literacy initiatives. Dedy Suryadi Dharmawan, the SEVP of Retail Banking at Bank Muamalat, mentioned that three regional managers in Sumatra are working with the bank: Lampung, Bangka Belitung, and Plaju. "As a pioneer of Islamic banking in the country, we’re excited about collaborating with Muhammadiyah, especially with the regional managers in places like Sumatra. We offer a wide range of financial services, from savings and financing to cash management. Plus, we’re open to working together on social assistance and financial literacy," he said. The memorandum of understanding signed with the Muhammadiyah regional management in Sumatra includes potential collaborations with Muhammadiyah's charitable organizations, such as educational institutions, hospitals, and zakat agencies. For instance, Universitas Muhammadiyah Pringsewu in Lampung has opened a payroll account with Bank Muamalat. Additionally, several Muhammadiyah-managed schools, from elementary to high school in Lampung, have also switched their payroll accounts to Bank Muamalat. The bank also provides financing options for business capital, multi-purpose financing, and home loans for Muhammadiyah employees and community members.

On top of that, the Muhammadiyah management can take advantage of banking services offered by Bank Muamalat, like virtual accounts, Muamalat DIN, and Madina. Recently, Bank Muamalat also helped set up accounts simultaneously for charitable organizations, autonomous groups, and hundreds of Muhammadiyah members in Serang, Banten. During this event, 23 charitable organizations and autonomous groups from Muhammadiyah in Serang opened accounts at the Bank Muamalat branch, with participation from staff and members of Muhammadiyah.
