The Trend Of Digital Transactions Is Expected To Keep Growing, And BNI's Ecosystem Will Provide Solutions For Customers

Friday, 10 Jan 2025

The rising trend of digital transactions in Indonesia is driving PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) to introduce various innovations in digital banking services. BNI's latest innovation comes from collaboration with seven strategic partners to create a sustainable digital ecosystem solution.

Hussein Paolo Kartadjoemena, BNI's Director of Digital and Integrated Transaction Banking, believes that the growing potential of digital transactions in Indonesia needs a positive response.

"BNI aims to be a key player in this growth trend," he stated in a media release in Jakarta on Friday (December 27, 2024).

Previously, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) projected that the value of Indonesia's digital economy transactions could reach between 220 to 360 billion US dollars by 2030. This projection is based on the East Ventures Digital Competitiveness Index 2023. It is also supported by data from Bank Indonesia, which reported a year-on-year growth of 34.43 percent in digital banking transactions in the third quarter of 2024, totaling 5.666 billion transactions.

This data is backed by BNI's positive performance in its digital transformation during the third quarter of 2024. Digital banking transactions grew significantly to 1.04 billion, an increase of 40.9%, with transaction value rising 26.2% year-on-year to Rp1,104 trillion.

Given the large potential and positive growth trend in digital transactions, Paolo is optimistic that the BNI Ecosystem solution will be strategic, offering various breakthroughs to provide end-to-end banking solutions for BNI customers.

Paolo explained that the BNI Ecosystem currently consists of three ecosystems. The first is the Campus Financial Ecosystem (CFEST), aimed at providing digital solutions in the university sector.

Smart Healthcare is now available for hospitals and health services, along with Smart Tenant for industrial areas. BNI will continue to offer other ecosystem solutions to meet customer needs.

To mark the launch of the BNI Ecosystem, a partnership signing event took place in Jakarta on Monday (December 23, 2024). The partners include PT Indoglobal Nusa Persada (Pintro), PT Teknologi Kartu Indonesia (TKI), and PT Rizki Tujuhbelas Kelola (R17), all of which are part of the Education Ecosystem (CFEST).

The next partners joining the Health Ecosystem (Smart Healthcare) are PT Jasa Medika Transmedic (Jasamedika Transmedic) and PT Jejaring Tiga Artha (ZiCare). For the Area Ecosystem (Smart Tenant), BNI collaborates with PT Krakatau Information Technology (KIT) and PT Realta Chakra Dharma (Realta).

Paolo believes that the BNI Ecosystem can effectively address the growing needs of customers.

“With this collaboration, we aim to strengthen the synergy among all parties to support future business growth, especially in the education, health, and industrial sectors in Indonesia,” he stated.

Syarif Hidayat, the President Director of PT Indoglobal Nusa Persada (Pintro), expressed positive feedback about the partnership with BNI.

“We hope to play a significant role in creating a sustainable ecosystem in the education sector in Indonesia,” he said.

Meanwhile, Theogratia Dinovan, Chief Business Development Officer of PT Jasa Medika Transmedic (Jasamedika Transmedic), mentioned that this collaboration allows them to provide more effective and efficient health services on a single platform. BNI supports our mission to deliver integrated health solutions.
