Harwan Muldidarmawan, the Director of Compliance and Risk Management at Jasa Raharja, stated that implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles is not just a formality but a crucial foundation for being an agent of change. He emphasized that as a state-owned enterprise, Jasa Raharja is expected to set an example of how a company can promote sustainable development amid increasing public demands in Jakarta. Jasa Raharja's commitment to environmental sustainability is demonstrated through various conservation-based programs. Initiatives like tree planting, waste management in natural tourist areas, and the use of electric vehicles reflect the company's serious dedication to protecting the planet for future generations. Additionally, Jasa Raharja has organized a Workshop on Integrating ESG into Social and Environmental Responsibility Practices (TJSL). This important step ensures that every program implemented has a real impact, aligning with the company's core values. On the social front, Harwan noted that Jasa Raharja actively engages in community empowerment. Support for small and medium enterprises, providing clean water access, assistance for people with disabilities, and financial aid for the families of traffic accident victims are concrete examples of the social initiatives undertaken by Jasa Raharja. In traffic safety, initiatives like creating red spots in accident-prone areas and the Jasa Raharja Road Safety Innovation (JR-Rovation) program highlight the company's commitment to fostering a safer traffic culture. The implementation of this program is interesting because it goes beyond just being a philanthropic CSR activity. It is part of the Creating Shared Value (CSV) approach, which aims to create social impact tailored to the company's main tasks and can be measured through Social Return on Investment (SROI), Harwan explained. As part of governance transformation, Jasa Raharja has integrated ESG principles into its regulations and operations. This is evident in policies like the whistleblowing system, gratification control, and the ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System, which not only enhance accountability but also ensure the sustainability of basic protection programs. An adaptive and technology-based governance structure allows the company to proactively manage risks and keep Jasa Raharja on track to support its long-term sustainability vision. Harwan noted that the evolving social dynamics and regulatory complexities present unique challenges for the company to ensure compliance. "The role of compliance in implementing ESG is crucial for Jasa Raharja to fulfill its responsibilities. Compliance not only ensures that tasks are carried out according to regulations but also strengthens Jasa Raharja's position as a company committed to sustainability through the application of ESG principles," he added. Governance Integration By integrating good governance, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability into its operations, Jasa Raharja can provide optimal services while supporting national sustainability goals.
