PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO) is dedicated to ensuring a steady energy supply and smooth operation of Geothermal Power Plants (PLTP) during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 holiday period. In addition to maintaining uninterrupted operations, PGE prioritizes operational performance and Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards across all its work areas. PGE's CEO, Julfi Hadi, emphasized the company's commitment to optimizing operational efficiency to guarantee stable and reliable clean energy supply for communities and industries during the holiday season. "With Indonesia's vast potential, geothermal energy is essential for meeting energy needs as it is available 24/7, unaffected by weather or climate conditions. PGE is committed to providing continuous energy for the Indonesian people, especially during significant moments like the holiday season," said Julfi Hadi. As a world-class green energy company, PGE is focused on the sustainable development of geothermal energy, promoting economic, social, and environmental benefits. This aligns with PGE's vision to become the World Geothermal Centre of Excellence, contributing to the national energy transition. By managing geothermal reserves of up to 3 GW, PGE plays a strategic role in supporting Indonesia's goal of achieving net-zero emissions through the integration of ESG principles in all its operations. In preparation for the holiday season, PGE is ensuring the smooth operation of all PLTPs, especially during peak energy consumption times. Currently, PGE manages 15 Geothermal Working Areas with an installed capacity of 672.5 MW, providing reliable clean energy. PLTP Area Lahendong provides over 30% of the electricity needs in North Sulawesi and Gorontalo, while PLTP Area Ulubelu supports about 22% of the electricity demand in Lampung. This highlights PGE's strategic role in promoting clean energy sustainability in the region. By focusing on operational excellence and enhancing engagement with employees and stakeholders, including community leaders in its operational areas, PGE ensures a continuous and high-quality energy supply to support community activities with sustainable electricity. PGE's Operations Director, Ahmad Yani, emphasizes that HSSE principles are prioritized by all PGE employees in every business and operational activity. "Implementing HSSE not only guarantees a safe working environment for all employees but also ensures that PGE upholds high safety and environmental protection standards to maintain the sustainability of our operations, especially in providing clean energy to the surrounding community," said Ahmad Yani. Julfi Hadi views the Nataru period as a significant moment to welcome various efforts and advancements the company is making to achieve a target of 1 GW installed capacity in the next 2-3 years. "With strategic development plans, partnerships with various stakeholders, and a new approach to geothermal development, PGE is optimistic about making a significant contribution to energy self-sufficiency, socio-economic development, and achieving Indonesia's zero-emission targets," concluded Julfi Hadi.
