Tuesday, 10 Dec 2024

Hankook Tire, a global tire company from South Korea, has officially appointed Bartek (Byunghak) Choi as the new President Director of PT Hankook Tire Sales Indonesia (HTSI), effective December 1, 2024. This appointment is a strategic move for Hankook to strengthen its presence in the growing Indonesian market. Bartek takes over from Yoon Soo Shin, who has successfully solidified Hankook's position in Indonesia's automotive industry over the past five years.

Before leading HTSI, Bartek served as the Director of the Sales Innovation Team at Hankook Tire USA for four years, where he developed significant growth strategies for the U.S. market. With nearly 20 years of experience in the global automotive industry, Bartek brings a fresh vision to maximize Indonesia's market potential.

As President Director of HTSI, Bartek has outlined seven key priorities to support Hankook's growth targets for 2025.

First, technology innovation. Hankook is committed to adopting the latest technologies to enhance product quality, services, and operational efficiency.

Second, customer satisfaction. To build consumer loyalty, Hankook will offer high-quality products and personalized services tailored to customer needs. An example of a previous initiative is the use of a WhatsApp broadcast platform to provide direct information about products, promotions, and tire maintenance schedules.

Third, strategic partnerships. Hankook aims to strengthen relationships with distributors and retailers through training, incentives, and ongoing support to create mutually beneficial collaborations.

Fourth, market leadership. Hankook plans to reinforce its market position by developing the latest tire technologies, expanding product variety, and adapting to the dynamic needs and trends of the market.

Fifth, operational excellence. Hankook aims to enhance its supply chain by focusing on efficiency and strengthening its dealer network to ensure better service and optimal customer satisfaction.

Sixth, brand development. To stay competitive, Hankook will enhance its branding strategy, including the launch of a new TBR tire model specifically designed for electric vehicles.

Seventh, employee development. Hankook will continue to invest in training and developing its employees to build a skilled, adaptable team ready to face future industry challenges.

"Indonesia is a strategic market with tremendous potential. I am honored to lead PT Hankook Tire Sales Indonesia. Together with the team, distributors, and retail partners, we are optimistic about driving innovative growth and providing the best solutions to meet customer needs," said Bartek.

As a leading tire company, Hankook Tire remains committed to delivering the latest technology that supports sustainability. Recognition in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices World (DJSI World) for seven consecutive years since 2016 demonstrates the company's dedication to innovation and environmental responsibility.

Under Bartek's leadership, Hankook is confident in strengthening its position in both global and local markets, supporting the growth of Indonesia's automotive industry, and promoting sustainable development.
