Since its establishment in 1958, SMBC Indonesia has been dedicated to serving the Indonesian community for 66 years, evolving into a trusted financial solution partner for various customer segments. By combining the global reputation and extensive network of Sumitomo Mitsui Bank Corporation (SMBC) with the local strengths of Bank BTPN, SMBC Indonesia is committed to building strong collaborations, promoting national economic growth, and providing innovative financial services that benefit the community. "This name change marks an important milestone in our long history of serving customers, including five years with SMBC Indonesia. With the spirit of #BersamaLebihBermakna, this transformation strengthens our commitment to continuously innovate and deliver reliable financial solutions," said Henoch Munandar, President Director of SMBC Indonesia. The transformation of Bank BTPN into SMBC Indonesia reflects a strategic initiative to adapt to dynamic market conditions and strengthen its position in the banking industry. SMBC Indonesia is dedicated to being responsive to the evolving needs of its customers by offering comprehensive financial solutions for various customer segments. For retail customers, SMBC Indonesia provides a wide range of services, including digital banking, loans, automotive financing, and asset management. For corporate clients, the bank offers solutions in corporate and wholesale banking. Additionally, SMBC Indonesia is fully committed to providing financial solutions for retirees and enhancing the empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). In March 2024, SMBC Indonesia acquired 51% of PT Oto Multiartha and PT Summit Oto Finance (OTO Group), reinforcing its commitment to expanding its customer base. This strategic move allows SMBC Indonesia to offer automotive financing solutions for motorcycles and cars, implement joint financing initiatives, and broaden its ecosystem through an extensive branch network in Indonesia. The acquisition also highlights the importance of human resource development through collaborative training programs. Commitment to Making a Meaningful and Sustainable Impact As a driver of positive and sustainable change, SMBC Indonesia actively supports various empowerment initiatives. One example of this commitment is the provision of green financing for environmentally friendly infrastructure, aligning with Indonesia's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2060. Furthermore, SMBC Indonesia is dedicated to empowering communities through the Daya program, which focuses on four pillars: self-capacity development, financial literacy, business capacity enhancement, and sustainable living. SMBC Indonesia collaborates with partners to implement impactful initiatives across different sectors. One notable partnership is with Djarum Foundation, a collaboration that has been ongoing since 2015.
