PT Kereta Api Logistik (KAI Logistik), a subsidiary of KAI, has established itself as a key logistics provider in Indonesia by winning an award at the Bisnis Indonesia Logistics Award 2024, themed "Reliable and Efficient." In this third annual event, KAI Logistik received recognition in the category of State-Owned Enterprises in the Rail Sector. The award was presented to CEO Fredi Firmansyah in Jakarta on Thursday (November 29). This award honors companies that contribute significantly to the logistics sector, playing a strategic role in boosting the national economy.

"This award reflects our company's success in playing a vital role in Indonesia's logistics ecosystem, especially in rail transport, which is a preferred and more environmentally friendly option. We are committed to encouraging businesses to participate in achieving green logistics, which is a shared responsibility to ensure the planet's sustainability while still focusing on profit," Fredi explained.

Fredi believes that collaboration among all industry players, including businesses, is crucial for creating sustainable and profitable logistics solutions. An environmentally friendly business approach not only benefits the planet by significantly reducing emissions but also enhances operational efficiency and logistics performance.

Novie Riyanto, Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, stated, "The logistics industry faces various challenges, such as connectivity, logistics costs, and international logistics regulations. However, the government is fully committed to ensuring that Indonesia's logistics sector continues to grow and become more efficient. We hope all stakeholders can create an integrated and efficient logistics system that contributes to the advancement of the national logistics sector."

Novie also emphasizes that transportation plays a crucial role in the national supply chain and logistics. A reliable transportation system not only boosts operational efficiency in logistics but also significantly contributes to economic growth.

In line with the government's commitment, KAI Logistik is enhancing its services to ensure that rail-based logistics can compete by providing added value. Key advantages include security guarantees, faster transit times, environmental friendliness, and maximum carrying capacity. Additionally, by integrating various modes of transport, KAI Logistik can create a more efficient and flexible network that supports smooth distribution of goods from start to finish. To strengthen this, KAI Logistik prioritizes service connectivity by being present in strategic areas, such as those near ports and industrial zones.

"Innovation and service improvement are our focus to enhance efficiency and speed up logistics processes. Recently, the company invested in utilizing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology on over 2,000 containers to improve the supply chain process. We have also increased the carrying capacity for the route from Klari, Karawang to Semarang and Surabaya from 20 Flat Wagons (GD) to 30 Flat Wagons, equivalent to 60 trucks with a capacity of 20 tons each."

KAI Logistik is committed to continuous innovation and strengthening collaboration with various parties to create efficient, sustainable, and safe logistics solutions. "We will keep focusing on service development, capacity enhancement, and technology utilization to support a more advanced logistics system in Indonesia," concluded Fredi.
