PT Kereta Api Logistik (KAI Logistik), a subsidiary of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), is expanding its services through KALOG Express, which focuses on retail. By November 2024, they will have a total of 183 service points. This expansion aims to support logistics delivery for various community needs, including essential goods, business supplies, and souvenirs from trips. Heri Siswanto, the Operations Director of KAI Logistik, stated, “KAI Logistik is here to meet the diverse logistics delivery needs, both in terms of types of goods and delivery locations. We are continuously expanding and strengthening our services in strategic areas to provide better convenience and access for our customers. As part of this effort, KAI Logistik is committed to bringing service points closer to regions with rapid UMKM growth and tourist areas to enhance logistics distribution and boost the local economy.” To demonstrate this commitment, KAI Logistik is actively increasing its service reach in high-potential areas. For instance, in Central Java, known for its vibrant UMKM activities, there are over 61 KALOG Express service points to help businesses send their products across Indonesia. Additionally, KAI Logistik's presence in tourist areas like Banyuwangi, Sleman – Yogyakarta, and Lawang – East Java supports the tourism sector by fulfilling logistics needs for local businesses and travelers. This service includes shipping for local entrepreneurs and making it easier for tourists to send their souvenirs. KALOG Express offers a convenient solution for travelers carrying extra luggage while using public transport like buses and trains, thanks to its strategically located service points. KAI Logistik has expanded its services to nearly all major stations in Indonesia, making it easier for customers to access their offerings. This strategic positioning establishes KAI Logistik as a reliable partner for various shipping needs in both large cities and surrounding areas, according to Heri. In 2024, KAI Logistik plans to open over 15 new KALOG Express service points as part of its strategy to strengthen its network. These new locations will be developed in partnership with local businesses, creating opportunities for collaboration in the logistics sector. Looking ahead, KAI Logistik aims to continue expanding its KALOG Express service points, focusing on areas with potential that are currently underserved. The company seeks to enhance partnerships with local businesses, making it easier for both small and large enterprises to engage in the growing logistics sector. This expansion is intended to bolster KAI Logistik's role in supporting the local economy, facilitating goods distribution, and meeting customer needs across Indonesia. Heri emphasized that logistics is essential for the movement of goods, whether for basic needs, business support, or tourism. The company is committed to broadening its service reach, ensuring convenience and comfort for both customers and partners interested in collaboration.
