Bank Mega Syariah Offers Scholarships For Outstanding Students

Bank Mega Syariah is launching the Mega Syariah Generasi Berkah Scholarship Program for 2024. This scholarship is aimed at outstanding students from underprivileged families who are pursuing a Diploma 4 (D4) or Bachelor's degree (S1) at partner universities of Bank Mega Syariah across Indonesia.

The Mega Syariah Generasi Berkah Scholarship for 2024 offers financial assistance of Rp6,000,000 for two semesters. In addition to financial support, the program provides training in Islamic finance and internship opportunities at Bank Mega Syariah. This means that scholarship recipients will gain not only financial aid but also valuable insights and practical skills relevant to the job market.

Hanie Dewita, the Corporate Secretary Division Head of Bank Mega Syariah, stated that the bank is committed to supporting customers socially, not just in business, through various initiatives, including the Generasi Berkah Scholarship Program. This program is a strategic step for Bank Mega Syariah to enhance human resource development and contribute to a more inclusive community.

"Scholarship recipients are expected to focus on their studies while being motivated to excel in both academics and personal development," Hanie added.

There are 15 selected partner universities collaborating in the 2024 Mega Syariah Generasi Berkah Scholarship Program. These universities are clients of Bank Mega Syariah for productive financing and funding.

Applications for the scholarship are open until November 29, 2024, with the selection process taking place from December 1 to December 23, 2024. Scholarship recipients will be announced on December 24, 2024, and the award ceremony is scheduled for January 2025. Strategic partnership with this university aligns with Bank Mega Syariah's efforts to strengthen the synergy between education and Islamic banking services, positively impacting the bank's business.

Bank Mega Syariah has reported strong performance through the first nine months of 2024. Total assets have grown over 16% year to date compared to December 2023, reaching Rp 16.9 trillion. This asset growth is supported by a 3.8% increase in financing, now totaling Rp 6.9 trillion.

The growth in financing is accompanied by maintained quality. As of September 2024, the gross non-performing financing (NPF) ratio stands at 0.91%, lower than the 0.95% recorded in September 2023.

In addition to scholarship programs, Bank Mega Syariah contributes to education through the Pijar CT ARSA "Pi Mengajar" Batch 4 program, which will send teachers to Grobogan, Central Java. This program aims to improve education quality in underserved areas by providing access to competent and dedicated educators.

"This initiative is part of Bank Mega Syariah's commitment to support educational equity in Indonesia, especially in regions lacking adequate educational facilities," said Hanie.

For your information, PIJAR is a teaching movement in remote schools, conducted periodically with a one-year service commitment.

This program is designed to raise awareness of the importance of reading among students by sending young teachers to remote areas of Indonesia.
