InJourney Airports Implements ACP When Saudia Plane Makes Emergency Landing

PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) implemented the Airport Contingency Plan (ACP) procedure and activated the Emergency Operation Center when the Saudia SV-5688 plane made an emergency landing at Kualanamu Airport, Deli Serdang. 

"Kualanamu Airport immediately implemented the Airport Contingency Plan (ACP) and activated the Emergency Operation Center with elements of the Airport Security Committee," said PGS. Corporate Secretary Group Head InJourney Airports Anak Agung Ngurah Pranajaya as stated in Jakarta, Sabu 

InJourney Airports reported that the Saudia SV-5688 plane landed safely at Kualanamu Airport at around 09.27 WIB. 

The pilot of the plane on the Jeddah-Muscat-Surabaya route diverted the landing to Kualanamu Airport, Deli Serdang as the closest airport to the plane's position when receiving information about a security and safety threat. 

He said the plane landed safely at Kualanamu Airport, and information received from the airline, passengers have headed to the hotel to be departed tomorrow. 

Furthermore, he said that currently security and safety procedures have also been carried out by the authorities for the aircraft and passenger luggage until the aircraft is declared safe to fly back to Surabaya. 

"It can also be said that flight operations at Kualanamu Airport are still running smoothly, and there are no disruptions due to this incident," he said. 

He added that the incident was the second time this week, where a similar incident occurred on June 17, 2025, while InJourney Airports remains alert to provide flight security and safety handling in accordance with procedures. 

"Further information will be provided periodically," he said. 

Previously, the Directorate General of Air Transportation (Ditjen Hubud) of the Ministry of Transportation ensured the safety and security of 376 passengers of the Hajj pilgrims of Flight Group (kloter) 33 Surabaya Debarkation from the alleged bomb threat for the second time. 

"After previously Saudia Airlines SV 5276 on the Jeddah-Jakarta route received a bomb threat via email, today Saturday (21/6) the same airline received another bomb threat," said Head of the Airport Authority Office for Region II-Medan Asri Santosa as stated in Jakarta, Saturday (21/6). 

The threat was made via telephone received by Air Traffic Control (ATC) officers at the Jakarta Area Control Center (ACC) from Kuala Lumpur ACC, but with a different route, namely the Jeddah-Muscat (Oman)-Surabaya route. 

The pilot of Saudia Airlines SV 5688 decided to divert the flight route to Kualanamu Airport in Medan after receiving a bomb threat. The decision was taken after coordinating with related parties for early handling. 

Asri explained that emergency treatment was carried out after the Saudia Airlines plane made an emergency landing at Kualanamu Airport.
