The pilot of the plane on the Jeddah-Muscat-Surabaya route diverted the landing to Kualanamu Airport, Deli Serdang as the closest airport to the plane's position when receiving information about a security and safety threat. He said the plane landed safely at Kualanamu Airport, and information received from the airline, passengers have headed to the hotel to be departed tomorrow. Furthermore, he said that currently security and safety procedures have also been carried out by the authorities for the aircraft and passenger luggage until the aircraft is declared safe to fly back to Surabaya. "It can also be said that flight operations at Kualanamu Airport are still running smoothly, and there are no disruptions due to this incident," he said. He added that the incident was the second time this week, where a similar incident occurred on June 17, 2025, while InJourney Airports remains alert to provide flight security and safety handling in accordance with procedures. Asri explained that emergency treatment was carried out after the Saudia Airlines plane made an emergency landing at Kualanamu Airport.
