Honda Is Organizing A Virtual Racing Competition Called Honda Racing EMS In Japan

In celebration of its 60th anniversary in the world of Formula 1 racing, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the organization of a virtual racing competition titled Honda Racing eMS - GT Fastest Attack 2024, which will take place in Japan. This competition is part of a series of events designed to celebrate Honda's achievements in Formula 1.

Honda Racing eMS will serve as a platform for racing enthusiasts to experience the thrill of Formula 1 racing and provide a true racing experience, bringing fans closer to the beloved racing world in a virtual format. The competition is open to all, from professional racers to amateurs looking to feel the adrenaline of racing.

This virtual racing competition will utilize the popular game among gamers, Gran Turismo 7, which can be played on Playstation 4 and 5 gaming consoles. Participants will compete using the legendary Honda F1 racing car, the Honda RA272, the first racing car developed by Honda that achieved victory in the 1965 Mexican Grand Prix.

The virtual racing competition series will kick off with online qualifying rounds from August 2 to September 1, 2024. Participants can choose between two classes, U17 Class for ages 17 and below, and Challenge Class for ages 18 and above. The top 10 participants in each class will advance to the GT Grand Final 2024, scheduled for December 1, 2024, at the Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama in Tokyo, Japan.

For the Honda Racing eMS 2024, HRC has appointed Inugami Korone, a Japanese VTuber, as the event ambassador. This collaboration aims to attract more people to motorsports, especially those who have not had direct contact with the motorsport world.

Inagumi Korone said, "I have been appointed as the Ambassador of Honda Racing eMS where through this activity, I hope to learn more about Honda's car products. Besides that, I will also do my best to promote the appeal of e-motorsports and motorsports to as many people as possible!"
