Geely Showcases Starray EM-i At GIIAS 2025, Ready For Local Production

Geely Auto Indonesia officially introduced its newest plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model, the Starray EM-i. This Chinese model is scheduled to launch this year, but no details regarding the exact date have been released.

Yusuf Anshori, Brand Director of Geely Auto Indonesia, explained that the company is pursuing local production of the Geely Starray EM-i.

"We conducted a trial run in May regarding the factory. So, we are indeed preparing for the CKD (completely knocked down) model," Yusuf explained during a press conference at the Geely booth at GIIAS 2025 on Wednesday (July 23, 2025).

Currently, the Geely Starray EM-i can be ordered. However, the process is up to each dealer. The down payment amount is also unknown to the authorized brand agent (APM).

"Dealers are indeed open (for Geely Starray EM-i orders). However, the decision (regarding the down payment) depends on the policy of each dealer," he emphasized.

Meanwhile, regarding specifications, there will be adjustments between the Starray EM-i sold in its home country and in Indonesia. However, detailed specifications will be announced at launch.

In general, according to Drive.com.au, the Geely Starray EM-i measures 4740 mm in length, 1905 mm in width, 1685 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2755 mm. This model uses the same platform as the EX5, although it has a different powertrain.
